Dog Licenses

All Village residents owning a dog that is 5 months of age or older must have their pet licensed. The license year is January 1 through December 31.  Dogs licensed after March 31 of the current year are assessed a $5 late fee.


To license your pet, you will need:

  1. Dog license fee
  2. Current rabies vaccination certificate
    *There is no form to fill out.
Dog License Fees:

Unaltered Dog: $12.00
Neutered/Spayed Dog: $7.00 (proof is required for first-time licenses)
Puppy*: $6.00 (1/2 the unaltered dog fee)
Neutered/Spayed Puppy*: $3.50 (1/2 the neutered/spayed dog fee)

 *Qualifies as puppy if he/she became 5 months of age after July 1
   of the license year.

  • Late fee of $5 added for dogs licensed after March 31 of the license year (does not apply to new residents or licensing of new pets).

Payments can be made by mail, drop box or during Municipal Center hours. If paying by mail or drop box, please include a current phone number along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope for us to mail the tag and rabies vaccination certificate back to you.

Other Types of Dog Licensing
  • Kennel License (requires application & Village Board approval) - $75 per year (paid w/application) + $75 for up to 12 multiple dog tags; additional $7/tag per dog if over 12 dogs (paid after approval)
  • Animal Fancier License (requires application & Village Board approval) - $75 per year (paid w/application) + each dog individually licensed (current tag fees as above; paid after approval)
